Homeschool Fridays – What Makes a Witchott? Workshop

October 16, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

$10

This workshop takes place at the Woodland Indian Hamlet.

Witchott, wickiup, wigwam, and longhouses are all names for the grass and wood structures that Native peoples up and down the East Coast of the United States called home.  Join us at the Woodland Indian Hamlet to discover what makes a witchott, how
the site builds and maintains our houses, and even try your hand at one of the many tasks needed to keep our witchotts up and running.

Designed for children ages 6 and older

$10.00 per child ($8 for Friends members)

If signing up for multiple workshops, each additional workshop is $7 per child ($5 for Friends members)

The workshop fee covers admission to the rest of the museum for the day.

Payment in full is due at time of registration.  Contact the Public Programs office at (240) 895-4979, or Groups@DigsHistory.org.  Space is limited.

Registration fees are non-refundable, unless the program is canceled by Historic St. Mary’s City.  Workshops may be rescheduled, depending upon program availability.

Participants are expected to practice appropriate social distancing, including wearing a face covering, and following any posted instructions.  All CDC guidelines and safety protocols will be in place.
