Homeschool Fridays – Maritime History Through Art and Communication Workshop

This workshop takes place at the Waterfront.

Students will have the opportunity to learn the artistic skills required of 17th-century sailors, and the ways in which they would communicate.  Participants will have the opportunity to board the Maryland Dove and go below deck.  Participants will try their hand at knot tying, learn about nautical charts, and see a gunnery demonstration.

Designed for children ages 6 and older

$10.00 per child ($8 for Friends members)

If signing up for multiple workshops, each additional workshop is $7 per child ($5 for Friends members)

The workshop fee covers admission to the rest of the museum for the day.

Payment in full is due at time of registration.  Contact the Public Programs office at (240) 895-4980, or Groups@DigsHistory.org.  Space is limited.

Registration fees are non-refundable, unless the program is canceled by Historic St. Mary’s City.  Workshops may be rescheduled, depending upon program availability.

Participants are expected to practice appropriate social distancing, including wearing a face covering, and following any posted instructions.  All CDC guidelines and safety protocols will be in place.
